westcanca, you're just too dumb to know how to unplug the bike...
My KLX250 rips and I can blow the doors of your crappy little Suzi in the woods.

No kidding! If he wants to recommend that nobody buy the KLX, at least bring something better than that pig of bike to the table. ITHOROUGHLY testrode a DRZ400SM before getting my D-tracker. If I thought it was a better bike, I would ridingone now.

Iowaguy,
Yea I've read a few arcticles about how they stuff these bikes up... its pretty severe, but like I said, its still got plenty of rip! Unlike my KLX, I can ride this for many miles stock... just need to street legalize it, when I get around too it.

Stock, my KLX had a useless 6th gear, no desire to lighten the front end whatsoever, and was woefully slow to wind up.
To be correct, the KLX is okay stock... but really really needs to be opened ASAP. Thats what I meant.

The klx250s isnt worth the money or time to open that anemic thing up.
To all Be warned! If you must buy a klx250 make sure you TEST ride it first , and even if you find you like the bike after a test ride youll outgrow it very quickly even when its uncorked.
My drz 400can wheelie all day at 70 mph in fourth gear, good power throughout the range and reliable as hell . I dont even have to check the valves untill 15 000 miles !

i think 99.9% knew what you meant. anyone who thinks the KLX is rideable stock doesn't know how to ride. anyone considering one of these KLX's needs to ride one first in stock form and then decide if they want to take the time and money to make them rideable for an experienced rider. the right mods will make them enough for me, but the 331 upgrade and pumper carb are things I'd just rather pass up and buy a new bike.

Hey ya know, If you don't like the KLX buy something you do like and move on to another forum. The klx does what I want it to, is a great woods bike and was never intended to be a full blown wheelie at 70 miles an hour all day long ( what a load of bs) mx/ street bike. And your right you should have ridden it first.
