I'm selling my KLX
#22
I did get what I feel is a good deal on the CRF450X. For about a grand, I got a one owner CRF450X in nice shape with low hours and a Minnesota street title (which can't be done anymore),. The true hours and mileage are unknown, but knowing the previous owner, I'd guess maybe around the 50 mark, mostly road riding. Very little external wear on the bike, including the OE front tire and sprockets.
Granted it needs a significant repair to the transmission, but the expected cost of parts is not outrageous and I'll do the work myself. In the end, I expect to be money ahead on a nicely capable dirt biased dual sport.
I intend on keeping both the KLX and the CRF...for now anyway. KLX will continue to serve as the daily commuter road ride, and occasional buddy bike; CRF will be set up for more serious dirt work. We'll see...the crossover might be so close that I abandon one or the other in favor of yet another bike to expand the gap.
