I'm selling my KLX
#11
Well, I changed my mind...again. I'm keeping the KLX. All my reasons for buying it in the first place are still valid, and I think if I can just wait a little longer I'll hopefully be able to add to the stable rather than replace my only steed.
Now that I know I'm keeping it, I've ordered the jets and missing idle adjuster so I can finally install that TM36-68, so I'll be installing that in the next week or two. And I may also finally get to work on making the parts I need to install that Stroker suspension too...but that will be a longer term project with everything else I have going on.
So, Gang, I'm so sorry for going astray. May I be welcomed back into the fold?

It's very easy to become attached to a bike (I am the worst!). But once you upgrade, it's not long before you find your old ride just collecting dust & getting in the way in the garage, especially if the new bike serves substantially the same purpose as the old one (you were looking at*WR450F, 450EXC, KLX450R, XC-W, right?).
I'd be more inclined to believe you if your new bike was going to be deej's ST!

Welcome back! We missed you...

I closed the deal today. No, no, I didn't sell the KLX. But I did buy a street titled 2005 CRF450X from a friend.
I won't be riding the 'X' for a while though...I'm buying it pre-broken. Transmission issue, fairly common for that vintage. Shouldn't be too big a deal to fix. Then we'll see if it can build my confidence in it...something that I haven't had in the CRF450 family. Actually, this exact bike is part of my reasoning for that mistrust.
In the mean time, I'll ride on on my KLX. Long term, assuming I keep the KLX (which I want to), it will probably morph into a more dedicated commuter format, rather than the current dirtbike/commuter setup.

The CRF450X is now in my garage! It's bordering on being a basket case, but not quite there. Actually, it's in good condition, other than being partially disassembled. This is just the start of a long project...from here it's pretty much got to be stripped to the frame, and the motor completely rebuilt.
