I'm selling my KLX
As much as I like the bike for the purpose it serves, I want to do something a little different, and I can only afford one bike.
So here it is:https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...85/#post491026

Thanks, Dan. I'm not 100% decided what I'll replace it with, it depends on what's on the market in my price range once my KLX sells. A WR450F is high on the list. There's also a KTM 450EXC (RFS) near me that I could make deal on. ...KLX450R, possibly KTM XC-W two stroke...or something.
One nice thing for me is that it does not need to be street legal from the factory, which opens up a lot of options. My very basic criteria are significantly more power, much better suspension, and good reputation for durability.

Lutz, good luck with your sale and getting the next bike. I chuckled when I read your "20 footer" comment. That discribed my old EXC, mechanically sound yet had a nice "been around the block" look to it!
I can attest to the quality of the KTM RFS engine. One of my biggest motorcycle regrets was selling my 05 450exc. Easy valve adjustments with a screw driver, wrench and feeler gage. The hardest part was getting to the valves, and that wasn't too bad. Dial in the suspension, spend ~$70 on a JD jetting kit, change the oil on a regular basis, clean the air filter, and unleash the beast. Remember it's a woods race bike and not the greatest dualsport comfortwise, the ~265lb bike gets blown around on the highway! I would shoot for a '04 and newer, especially '05- '07 400/450/525. Don't discount the 400 either, had one one of those also, a '02.

Well that certainly would meet the more power criteria, but I don't think I'm man enough to attempt trail riding with it. But now that you mention it, my buddy has an FJR that he's thinking of parting with. You ever fit knobbies to the ST?
