it was fine for my crf but the klx bent it.

Thing with the klx is it's balance point is such that your lifting the whole weight of the bike when you only really want the front or the back. So you have to get the stand way forward or way rearward, which isn't too stable. My free advice FWIW, is to get a heavy duty one that take the whole weight and be stable.

Also, be sure the height isn't too tall fro your SF. I need to lift my free sag out of the 06 klx-s to slide mine under. It'd be too tal for a 09 or motard klx

I too bent the arm on a step-style. It was a PITA to even get the bike up. I weigh about 180 and I was standing on the peg and it wouldn't even lift up. I got it up once or twice, then it was so screwed up it never worked again.

Now I use my floor jack and a piece of plywood on top to lift it. Also have four hooks on the overhead beams that I can hang the bike on, or just clip up while on the lift to make sure it's not going to fall over. Works real well.

I've been using one like this for a couple years w/o any issues.
Mine came in Green to match the bike and was like $50
