did my valves this weekend. The tip to use a magnet to remove the buckets was good. I also used the magnet to place the shims. Just put the shim on the end of the magnet set it in the middle of the valve & slide the magnet to the side and the shim is perfectly placed,

I always thought that the cam chain would come off the crank if you loosened it up.... doing 2 stroke topends for years makes you plex unneccessarily about topends with all these extra parts.

I zip tied the chain to the cams in two places. It did not seem like there was enough slack to let it come off the crank as the tensioner guide pushes in and take up the slack even with the tensioner removed. To get the cams back in place without feeling like I was not scrapeing anything I pushed in the tensioner with a plastic rod so I dont think there is too much chance of chain comeing off and slipping a tooth.
