Take a 220 lb 300xc-w for a spin and tell me it has no power....or better yet .... where is that 650? ... it was behind me just a second ago.

Exactly.

I rode this weekend with an Austrian. A 950 Adventure to be precise and had very little trouble keeping up with him except when we got on wide open things were he got over 70. Plus it was my first time in the dirt on my new KLX and first time on the trails; compared to years on his bike and he was leading the ride and therefore knew the trails.

The weekend before, I got to test my little-250-that-could up against a CBR 954 in one of our canyons here in Colorado. Granted we were going down the canyon and I would have gotten destroyed going up but just looking at corner speed, I was hitting my brakes not because I needed to slow down in the corners but to avoid hitting him, and he is a very quick rider who has raced sport bikes in the past. Can't imagine this thing on the road once I get a supermoto set up for it.

I'd say it is an awesome bike, bang for buck is way, way up there and I'm not a newbie or low-performance kind of rider. I sold my KX250f supermoto race bike to buy this thing and don't regret it. It has been way more than I expected as a dirt bike and as a street bike. I bought it to be a glorified moped and have been shown quickly just how much I had underestimated it.

Now that Berg would be another story altogether. But again, bang for buck the KLX may even have the Husaberg. And one other reason for the KLX in my garage is the maintenance or lack there of. I imagine the intervals and costs of maintaining the Bergs/KTMs way exceed the KLX.

Last thing is that the only mods I've done yet is to remove the snorkel and put gas in the tank.
