KTM's are over rated............unless I had one then all other bikes would not be worthy.

I hear ya....just keep your ear to the ground....I got my adv for less that I paid for my klx and it came with luggage and other goodies and only 4k miles.

Good deals do happen....make sure you tell us what you get.

Show me some love, baby All other bikes are not worthy.

Except for maybe this one.

Bummer the US Dollar is so weak against the Euro - that's why KTMs are so expensive right now. Glad I got mine when I did.

I luv my KLX

50 square miles...Thats where I roll....Dirt mud or asphalt......Outside of that Id want a bigger bike...But regardless...If I had a bigger bike I would dump it 1 extra time per day..
The weight and the size of the KLX is perfect for doin whatever ya want when ya want...

Sounds like you may be a lighter weight then myself...Im 200 lbs and could cargo 50lbs for sure....So if your 150lbs I dont see any reason you couldnt pimp out 100lbs of gear....

Try 10x in scrub sugar sand trails...lol.....but now I can muscle the adv in sugar better....but the weird part is I don't seem to biff on the klx anymore unless I am really hauling azzz. I think the adv made me a better dirt rider......but I still fall on the adv in sugar...lol.

Where i run we rarely if ever run into sand. Most common around here is rock. Also another reason i want a KLX250S is because its alot easier to run in the snow with knobbies, and they hold studs better...

Jasonfmx I like your responses, it made me chuckle. with regards to the DR650 I had a few and the power was nice, however a properly tuned 09 klx250s is a blast!! pro circuit pipe, uni filter, air box removed and a 13T front sproket and it rips. It feels like my old suped up xr400, just lighter. Put the mods in and for get about it. Ride hard.

Yeah but you shouldn't have to screw with your bike and go through all the crap of having a learning curve to find out what mods to do and what products are available then play the game of getting it all tuned. It's a pain and I hate doing it.

The 650 comes out of the box and is ready to rip... I don't care what you do to a 250S, its not going to run like a stock 650. And if it does by the time your doing spending all the money, doing all the work, stress, times, etc. It's not worth it.

My dad's interested in getting a dual sport 250. I'm thinking of passing my bike off to him and I go pick up a 400 or 650

Oh, and I don't dig aftermarket pipes on street leagal bikes like this. Most likely they won't meet sound or emission requirements when you go to get it inspected. Plus I hate the loud crack they make. And the most important thing, they are extremely overpriced. I would prefer just putting on the KLX 300 pipe or something.
