I screwed up
So, long story short, I ran my bike with no oil and the tens seized. It started right back up after I added oil but needless to say there are noises. It will shift through all the gears but if I try to push start it the tire won't move. Anyway, just looking for advice. Tear it apart or take it and pay the piper or just try and find a new engine/ trans?
Anyone have a 2009 engine/ trans combo to sell?

How long did you run it dry? A complete unit might be the way to go. There have been a couple of KLXs being parted out recently.
It would help to show your location, engine/trans shipping could be pricey.

Absent minded
When I left Germany I had to drain the oil. When I got back to the states it was almost a year before I had the chance to ride because of a deployment. It wasn't till after I started it and ruined it that I remembered I had drained the oil. So stupid of me.

Where are you located ? From you user name i assume CA ?
shipping a complete engine will likely be quite costly so i would check you local craigslist and see what might be close on ebay. i would offer my 331 up but shipping from MO to CA would prpbably cost the same as the motor.

My guess would be the cam bearing surface would be the first to have serious damage from seizure, the cylinder/piston next. The ball and roller bearings probably would tame more time since there would be residual oil there. Consider a two stroke runs on that bit of oil in the gas using ball and roller bearings.
Pull the valve cover and see how the cam surfaces are.
