I see Kawasaki must have gone to a non-floating design... I had a KLX300 rotor (and wheels - heavier spokes) on my 09 so I never saw the original rotor.

I will tell you if they package it right the shipping will end up around $25 or so. VAT is the only other concern.

So I'd take a serious look at the new 450 rotor and ask the questions. My bet is it will, but I'd ask for the numbers first.

Here was a quote from an old thread at post 21:

The 2009 klx250s front brake rotor pattern is a match for the klx650 hubs. However the bolts threads on the hub are too small. The 2009 KLX250s bolts are larger 8x15 and the KLX650 bolts are 6x14

Kaw used those hubs over and over and over, with minor alterations from bolt size to finish to having the speedo drive machined into it. So there is a plethora of rotors that will fit if you just ask the three magic questions... ID, OD, and bolt pattern.

Go to your local boating/sports store and pick up a Olin 25mm flare gun.

There are lots of BIG NAME chains & padlocks that proclaim to be bolt cutter proof & for some strange reason insurance companies give small discounts for using them but this is very misleading information!! This video disproves the BS.

Get yourself an Almax! Almax Security Chains Limited

EDIT: Even the made in Thailand prices are quite high for rotors, for the bigger SF: $110 & the smaller S: $70

Looked into gettin one of these almax chains myself, suppose to be the best on the market.
They don't come cheap though, looking at around £250 for chain, anchor and lock.
I ended up going for an oxford setup for now.
At least you still have your bike things could of been a lot worse without your alarms/disc locks.

That video demonstrates the reason why any chain or cable should be as high as possible. That guy wouldn't have been able to use those bolt cutters like that if the chain was up around the steering head or seat area. He had to throw all his weight on it quite heavily to cut the chain.

Still, getting a better lock and using it up high has to be better yet.

When it comes to front brake rotors, the SF is another story. Those are like the 300mm rotor from a KLX650C - rare and expensive, because they are a single model rotor. The 650R and the 250S rotors (pre-08 for sure) only differ in style of center or drill pattern from that of the KLX/KDX/KX rotors on many other years. Key is to find out the ID, the OD, and the bolt circle pattern. Rotors with smaller holes can be drilled out.

The good part with the 250 rotor is that it is flat, so that is one less measurement and the toughest to match. If I was shopping for a rotor I'd be looking for KX/KDX any size then ask the seller about the dimensions to match up the fit. Unless you just have to have the OEM style rotor, there are choices out there. As I say, my 09 has 300 slotted rotors.
