I Made A Big Mistake

I Made A Big Mistake
Just voicing my dilima here. I have been baby sitting my brother's 2006 Yamaha YZF-R6 for about three weeks now. Since I was doing a rear fender re-make on my bike I decided toride his to work. That was a mistake. The first few times I didn't really care for it; mostly the riding position. It alsoturns and handlescompletely different than our bike. Anyway, it has grown on me; especially the power. I rode my bike the other day after finishing the fender mods and was disappointed. It felt like a moped. Don't get me wrong I see the desparity of the comparison I am making and am a big fan of our bike. I'm just torn now on the direction I should go in the future. Like I said, I'm just voicing my dilima...

Also, if I remember right I got flamed for months in doing so. So how come you didn't get flamed?

1. I just posted it (it's possible someone will get sassy).
2. I think that I included some tact in my statements.

Probably no mistake. I think that it isgood to check out other bikes, either to reaffirm contentness with the KLX250S or to find out what might be missing. Riding other bikes might present new challenges too - potentially helping to improveriding skills.

RE: I Made A Big Mistake
After riding my Dad's V65 Magna (1100 V-4) the KLX seems anemic. That being said I won't ride the big bike anymore, its a ticket waiting to happen. I did 130 miles yesterday of mountains and twisties chasing my friend's mom on her Virago 1100 twin and the KLX was a riot in the S curves. Light and flickable and taking the curves at double the posted limit (suggested, not state limit) was a blast! My ***** are worn all the way to the edges presently, only hints of the former mold fuzzies that were there. If I were to get a street bike it'd probably be the new Ninja 250, its so much fun to be able to wring a bike out and ride it at its limits.................yet still be legal As opposed to the 100hp inline 4's that break the speed limit in 1st gear.

RE: I Made A Big Mistake
I think most of us bought this bike to ride and have fun on. The ones that bought it expecting it to be more than what it is out grow it or want something more. There is nothing wrong with buying and riding other bikes but for what it is I think its a great little bike.
