One thing to check is to make sure your idle RPM's are within range. 1,300 rpm's is whats called for, I keep mine set at 1,500 rpm's. Make sure you set the idle when the engine is warmed up. Also try choking the engine on start-ups when its cold or has been sitting for 10minutes or longer between runs.

Thanks.
I have used choke to start and knock it off but the engine hunts up and down as if an air leak is the cause. I can hold it at, say 1600rpm and it is good then it can stall or revs rise in no particular pattern. It starts fine each time after it stalls and rides OK on the road but I agree with others that it may be a blocked pilot jet !

I can get just over an hour with the bike off before I have to use the choke again. Oh and welcome to the forums.

I'd pull the float bowl and check for debri in there and clean out the bowl and pilot jet. Also check the float height while you're in there. Take a look at the jetting to see what's there and if it looks to be correct. Look over the enrichening circuit parts to make sure there are no leaks or damage to the components. Those CV carbs are pretty simple to work on, clean it all up and re-install.

Thanks prowler, will do that Friday night. I'm out on a green lane ride on Saturday so it will be a pain if I have to blip the throttle every time I slow up. So here's hopeing !

When I wrote that I was wondering if it would be too harsh. But I said to myself naaaaaahh. These bunch of fellars here are just too clean minded to read that the wrong way! Thanks deej, you just burst my bubble.

Well known this bike is cold blooded. Use the full choke to start a cold bike , idle on half choke for a few minutes.
