I.m new and I have a problem !
Hi, just got my new/old KLX250 back home and need some advice please . I new the bike had this problem when I bought it. On tick over it has to be blipped with the throttle to stop it stalling. If you hold the throttle set at just above tick over the revs rise, fall and rise and then will cut out (in no particular order).
Does anyone think it is a whole in the diaphragm
It starts fine and rides great but not when ticking over.
Thanks in advance for any help !

While you are checking the diaphram, also check the pilot jet in the bottom of the carb. The hole in it is very small and it is easy to get some crud in it and restrict fuel flow. The pilot jet and pilot needle control fuel flow at idle and very low rpm.

Thank everyone,
Should have put tickover (one word). Choke is not on. No holes in diaphragm. The spring has a plastic four legged claw attached to the end and looks like it just sits on top of the needle/slide (it is not clipped onto it, just lifts off, attached to spring)is that o.k.
To check the pilot jet can i leave the carb on the bike, take fuel bowl off and get to it that way or should I take the carb off to do it ?

I dont know about the rest, but mine loves to be choked. Even in summer if I stop for over 15 minutes I use it. I could do like you and blip the throttle but there is fuel starvation happening for a bit( uneven rpms). Everything is still stock and she's been like this since day 1.
