wtf.....thats crazy....I just bought all new plastic for my ktm adv and not one piece was more that $25 from the factory......why the F is Jap plastic so expensive....I need a left side shroud for the klx. [:@]

I'd like to buy all black plastic but not at $400+
But wait, Finger ... I thought you couldn't get parts for these European exotics and even when you can no one can afford to buy them? Yet another myth busted!

Just as a comparison for the stock plastic we can get here. Prices are from Ron Ayers which seem to be about the cheapest.
36001-0078-266 side cover $62.04
36001-0079-266 side cover $62.04
55020-0196-RZ fork guard $23.50
55020-0199-RZ fork guard $23.50
49131-5097-290 shroud$83.77
49131-5098-290 shroud $83.77
It sucks that there is no aftermarket plastic for the bike, and Krylon is just not the same. Unless you can get it used somewhere(which is almost next to impossible) it looks like we are screwed on plastic.

Go to KTMTalk.com and click on the "shop online" button at the top. That'll take you to "Munn Racing" out of Waco, Texas. Along the left hand side select the model year of your bike, then select your bike and you'll be taken to the parts fische diagrams. Just find the part you need, add to your cart, boom badda bing, automatic 15% discount for KTM Talk members, parts ship out and it couldn't be easier. I just ordered a few parts last night - couple of valve cover gaskets, one of mine ripped after my last check. I think it will survive until the next check and I'll replace it then. It needed replacing though, anyway, I've reused it multiple times.

Most all the parts are comparable pricing with aftermarket parts. For example, OEM KTM radiators for my bike are $180 each from Munn. OEM KLX radiators are nearly $500 each. Crazy. How do they get away with that? $180 is bad enough, but over twice that for Japanese parts? Doesn't make any sense.

Yeah, they're getting pretty secure with their market share. It's refreshing to see some viable competition. I hope the trend continues. With most of the manufacturing being done cheaply overseas, there's no way Kawi or any other Japanese company should be charging so much for a chunk of plastic.

I once had somebody tell me that I could make some money by offering D-tracker plastics, but one look at the prices made me laugh at that statement. No way!
