Default I don't know what I'm going to do with this.

I had a moment of impulse buying yesterday.

Look at the pics of the bore. Does that look like dirt or a messed up bore? I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Looks like very light surface rust that disappear when you run a hone through it.

Looks like rust. Once you get it take a scotch brite pad to it to see how it cleans up. You may have to get it honed.

If it's really messed up they say they'll make it good. A bit of light surface rust and some sort of bit of lint in the photo. DO NOT PANIC ............................. YET.

Nope, no piston. I tell you what though. If the 300 piston is like the 250 piston, I'd rather have the forged Wiseco piston and rings anyway. Can you hone the Nikasil? I honed the sleeve in my 80mm jug. That sleeve material is some tough stuff! I have a friend with an '09 250s and a friend with a '06 250s. I'll see if they want it. If the nikasil is narfed up, it'll be used as a core for a big bore project.

I don't know how the nickle aluminum coating can rust. Looks smooth, can't really tell till you hit it with a hone (a little) and measure for out of round and taper.

Listing is closed so I could not see but from reading the comments it sounds like you picked up a bored out nikasil plated cyl. My experiance was the nikasil is tough stuff but my 330cly must have had a thin wall becuase it cracked. I am now a fan of the sleaved cyl's

If you picked up a 330cyl contact bill blue. he has my old 330 piston and said it was in excelent condition.

Cheers Jim

The rust looks minor and as everyone else said such should clean right up. But in the lower right, is that a pretty good sized gouge?

Worst case, send it off to have it sleeved to 351.
