Default I can't get my idle right!

My idle has been running rich ever since I installed the 351 kit. I tried everything...well almost everything that I can think of. I have a kouba screw installed on my carburator. I first tried the 38m pilot jet and every time I blipped the throttle, my idle would drop and if I blip the throttle right away, my bike would bog. So I put back the 35 pilot jet and its still doing the same thing! I read through a bunch of carb tuning info but I can't seem to figure out why it's doing this! Can anyone help me out on this one?

You need to set the fuel screw first and once that is right you can increase/decrease the idle screw to approx' 1300 rpm.

If it helps any - I have stock carb, stock pilot, and from the FMF dynojet kit I am using the needle on the 4th clip I believe, and a 132 main jet.. Fuel turn about 1.5 turns out..

Bike runs absolutely perfect.. Maybe try this as a base line?? I am at sea level mostly if that makes any difference to you too.

Hey cousinlarry, I have the same exact set up as yours but I think it might be my float level that's causing my idle to be out of whack. I'm gonna check on that right now.

Yup! That was the problem! I added 1mm higher on the float level and that fixed everything! Thanks for the responses guys!
