How to remove the pixie stick out of stock can ?

I thought about doing something like that, but i hacked up an exhaust tip from a KX400 4-wheeler stock can.

It sounds really good, not much louder than stock but flows alot better.

Problem is that the exhaust tip is stainless, and i'm no great welder by any stretch of the imagination and the idea of trying to weld dissimilar metals does not give me the warm fuzzys.

I had wanted to tap and screw the tip on, but the metal is just too thin. Any ideas ?
