Default RE: How to Post a Full Sized Picture Here!

Here's a tip for posting a single picture that you want to display full size in your message, instead of having it appear as an attachment at the end. This approach saves the hassle of working with two websites, since you only upload the picture to Kawasaki Forums. (Necessity isn't the Mother of Invention ... laziness is!)

The typical approach is to upload your picture to some other photo website (e.g. Photobucket, etc.), then use the "[IMG][/IMG]" tags with the URL to the photo pasted between the two tags.

If I want to post a single picture, I'll check the "Embed picture in post" checkbox and click the "Click here to upload!" link at the bottom of the message window. This pops up the dialog box where you enter the local path of the image you want to upload, then click Ok. The forum software then does it's usual attachment thing when you save the message.

The trick is to then edit your message. At the bottom of the message, you'll see the "[IMG][/IMG]" tags with a URL that starts off with "local://upfiles/...". Simply edit this and change "local://" to "https://www.kawasakiforums.com/" and your image will display as a picture instead of as an attachment. You can also move the image tags and URL to the middle of your message instead of having the picture displayed at the end.

You can quote this message to see the tags that display this image:

Note that this only works with a single image ... if you want to post multiple images in your message, you'll need to take the Photobucket approach.
