Every 5-6 hundred miles but change the filter every other oil change. Cheap insurance. Same as my other bikes.

And even at that an oil change costs about what you'd pay for lunch at McDonalds. And consider this. When was the last time you read about an engine failure caused by too much maintenance? Exactly.

We run 1/4 liter mills with chainsaw redlines with a quart of oil to keep it happy. I change mine around 1K, use a part synthetic (Castrol EVO) and notice that the oil is pretty darn dark when it comes out. Overkill? Maybe. But no harm done. I plan on having my KLX for a long time indeed and figure a little extra for oil is a small price to pay.

90% of my riding is offroad so I change it every 300-500 miles. At 3000 miles when I did my big bore my internals looked new. I should mention that I hardly ever go above 7000 rpm's and never go above 9000 rpm's. There's just no need to where I ride.

99 & 44/100ths percent of the time we have some dirt, rocks, sand or water under our rides! My buddy with the orange one, is forever adjusting his valves, changing his oil, putting on new tires and just generally working on various things .... so just to keep myself busy while he 'putzes' with the 'orange squeeze', ( No offense intended, NOBRAKES), I'll sometimes change my oil just to keep him happy!!! After all, we can't ride while he has it tore down, now can we?

Stay safe out there,

it all depends on how hard you ride your bike...every 3000 miles or less...

+1.. I ride mine hard and she gets pretty pretty dirty all the time. so every 600 for oil and 1000 for filter. Rule of thumb you can never over service an engine

for the weekend warriors you probably could change it once a season...if you are unsure just check the level, the color and feel it for grittiness...

I think 7500 miles is way to long for a modern 250cc motor that only holds 1.5 quarts. Most larger street bikes have shorter intervals. I almost think that Kawi made a typo here?
