Nah, I plan on rebuilding the whole motor, 18 horse power isnt really my kind of fun. I figure lightened pistons, bored and sleeved, racing cams, titanium valves, different gearing, adjust the valve timing for a slight overlap.

"But I looked in the oil window near the rear brake lever a minute ago and after riding the bike for about 45 minutes and at idle I can only just see the oil at the bottom of the window.... "
Who checks their oil with the engine running anyway? I've never heard of such a thing. Theyhave owners manuals for a reason, maybe try reading it. It actually says "turn engine off before checking oil level". Freakin hilarious!!!!!!Do you need a new muffler bearing too? hahahaha!!

I know it's all good. I haven't laughed that hard all day! Believe me, I'm no expert, and I don't know it all. We all learn more every day right? I'm laughing with him, not at him. At least he's checking his oil. My first enduro was a brand new89' Suzuki SP125.I was 15 years old, and I didn't know squat about motorcycles at the time. I putover 4000 miles on it in 6 months and the engine seized because I NEVER checked the oil. Live and learn. By miracle, they covered it under warranty. Oh yes, what an idiot huh..........from then on, I do preflight checks every time I ride. And by the way deej, my I.Q. is just fine. I just have an odd sense of humor, that's all.

haa nice, one zapit.
by the way i dont know if this is true on the klr's but on my kx right next to the oil filler cap it tells you the exact measurement of oil to put into the bike.

Ok well good news..... Your absolutely correct that the oil drains down with the engine off!
So with the engine off and the bike standing up straight it fills my little window, so I'll hold off on the oil change for a couple more miles..
