How Many Miles On Your 250s?

wow new frame????? i wanted a new motor when i went through my crap... but they will replace every single part before an entire assembly... motor... bike..... changing frames has to be a pain to do...

I'm leaning towards the frame not getting cleaned well enough, before welding the kickstand tab to the frame, since the weld itself is cracking off. A good weld, should have stayed fast and the material the weld is attached too should have torn, ripped, or broken, before the weld did. At least, that is what I have always heard about welding.
I am very concerned about what kind of bike I am going to get back.... if the characteristics change, etc. The bike looks like brand new, still. Supposedly, it will return better then factory, so they say.
We'll see.

7. Yup 7 miles and I love it. I bought it at lunch time today. It is still bone stock.
So in what order do are start making upgrades?
reading the manual it says not to exceed 4000 rpm fort he first 500 miles then not to exceed 6000 rpm for the next 500 miles. Holy cow, Any comments on this?
Thanks!!!

I agree. Warm it up, then take it up to about 4000, let the engine slow you back down, then repeat. After doing this for about 20-30 minutes, let it cool down. Repeat again, this time getting up to about 6000. After that, abuse it and enjoy it.

So am I
Again, I'm not too mechanically inclined when it comes to this sort of thing. Sad to say, I'm the type who would rather just pay someone to do it, but I'm trying to learn. I actually have some PJ1 chain wax, and have used it already, so I'm good there. I'll add some lube to the friction points like you listed above.
I don't know engines and have always just loved to ride bikes, never mess with them. Now, firearms, that's another story. I'll build a 1911 in a heartbeat; I'll strip an AR-15 to bare bones and bring it back in no time... I've always been a gun nut -- that's my #1 hobby!
