Howdy Fred, I usually ride here in northern IL , some into Wisconsin and one event in Theilman MN . I really didnt get a chance to ride much last year , hoping to change that this year. The club I'm in puts on a Dual sport and a hare scramble , so there is usually some riding involved in prepping and marshaling that. There are some good DS rides in WI , one in Wabeno WI , way up north , another just west of Madison (the Bucky).
Our club , the Forest City Riders, puts on a pretty tough DS and another club (the brushpoppers) about an hour south of me puts on another tough DS ride. Good stuff.
Never been to MI, but would love to try it.

Hey dan888,

If you ever get a chance to ride in Michigan there is some good riding, just not in the southern half of the lower peninsula. Once you get north of Midland there is more forest and trails to ride. The upper peninsula has some good dual sport riding as well. There is plenty of forest service roads and single track to explore. I've been to the UP every year since 2011 on the bike and plan on hopefully riding the klx there this year. I'm not sure if you are on advrider, but here's my report when I rode my klr250 to the UP.

A fall ride to the UP on the little 250 that could - ADVrider

Loved the RR.
I also loved the ride to Mt. Washington and Maine coast RR. I live near and ride by Mt. Washington all the time, but have never ridden up. I have hiked it a bunch though.
