ORIGINAL: Marty

I actually like to have even more fun with my Harley friends.

Simply put, I start discussing the similarities between my KLR650 and their Harley-Davidson rides. I tell them that we share the same 21 inch spoked wheel of the FX bikes - Springer, Softail Standard, Night Train and Duece also share. I talk about the rear tire size that we both, up until this year, shared - 130 wide! Then if you want to see them start turning colors, I talk about the fact that we share the same carburetor - a Keihin CVK40. Now that will start even the most staunchly devoted Harley-Davidson fanatic into spasms! A Jap carb on his American Made motorcycle! Of course once you have them on the ropes, you need to finish them off, right?

Ask them where their parts are made? Many of the electrical parts are made in of all places, China. Many of the bearings are made in Mexico. Worked right, you can actually tell them that their bike is no faster than your 650 cc single cylinder motor! That's when the fun really begins!

Marty don't forget the Showa forks on the Harleys. Showa is made in the Land of the Rising Sun, and it's parent company is.....Honda!!!~

Sounds like Harleys are just assembled in the US.
