how do you lower a bike
I might get a drz 400 or klx250s but both bikes are 1 inch to tall.Id like to sit on one and have it be stable like a dr200. How would i do this and how much would it cost to lower a drz 400? Also i dont want to really cut the foam out of the seat.

Are you talking about the supermotard DRZ or the DP DRZ? The DP DRZ is significantly taller than the KLX. I'm only 5'7" and the DRZ was waaay too tall for me. The KLX is no problem. If you are talking about the supermotard DRZ, it's maybe just a smidgen taller than the KLX.

Have you looked at the Yamaha XT 225, my wife is 5'5" and 118, and she can get both feet flat on the ground on the 225, and its a street legal tried and true machine.

Being the same height and 65 lbs lighter than me I think you'd want the lowering links for the KLX, mine has settled somewhat at 700 miles but I can still only flat foot one at a time, and if one foot is flat the other sure isn't touching at all. At stop signs I put both of my feet down and rest on just the ***** of my feet, works fine especially when windy, going one footed could be a bit hazardous. The XT225 was my first choice based soley on the height of it compared to the KLX but after the local dealer didn't have any the KLX started to grow on me and I realized that it had a some nicer features over the XT but honestly I would have been perfectly happy with either bike probably.
Also being so light, most bikes are setup for your average person at 150 lbs. So you would have to lessen the shock preload anyway to get the appropriate sag.

Made our own dogbones for the boys KLX. Stock are 117mm ctc and we ended up going up to 135mm. Lowered it a good 1.5 in.
Bought the flat steel at Menards for a little over $3. Enough to make a couple of sets if needed.
The front we didn't mess with as we've mounted the 17's on the bike. You'd have to buy some bar riser's to get the forks to drop as the handlebars are just above the tubes not allowing for you to slide the them up?
