How do you lighten the bike?

The guy in Oregon did a BB351, EJK, FMF pipe with lidless was able to achieve 29HP on the dyno. He replaced the FMF pipe with a Barker system which should give it a couple more ponies.
His most recent adventure is a new ported and polished head with larger throttle body. They put that on the dyno to discover the injector was operating at greater than 90% of its duty cycle. He is currently waiting on the new/larger fuel injector. Will be interesting to see what kind of results he can achieve.

WR250R's don't make anywhere near 30 hp - when measured properly.
That 30 hp figure is "at the crank" - which is a sneaky way of spouting inflated power numbers.
Actual stock WR power levels - measured at the rear wheel with SAE correction factor - range from 21hp to 26hp, with TRQ in the 14 lb ft. range. The charts are "all over the place" but 23-24 hp seems to be the norm..
We make 25 hp / 16's TRQ (SAE @ rear wheel ) with a properly set up exhaust, MCM, lidless airbox, and lidless CVK setup..
Also, our power band is far superior - the WR has to be redlined to create its' HP.

That's what I thought. Seemed weird. 25HP with 304lbs. bike feels pretty good to me. I don't get too crazy offroad but If I did I would consider a true mx bike but the klx is the perfect bike for me.
