How do you lighten the bike?
Trying to get the bike as light as possible. So far I have dropped weight from the aftermarket exhaust, but what else can be done? Everything else apart from maybe the passenger footpegs appear to be needed. Has anyone changed the battery, and how did that go?

Road to get to the trails unfortunately. But I did also remove the heavy tail light assembly and replaced with lighter after market. Been researching Lithium batteries so that is next. Will do a scan of brackets etc. Thanks.

Also, you can remove electric starter and add kickstart if you're serious about weight.I added klr footpegs but they are steel vs. stock aluminum so better aluminum footpegs would help. Lay off beer for a month or two as well.

I'm trying to lighten my bike too without spending too much. Only replaced my handlebars so far, which saved a pound. Desmog: 1-2 lbs, fender eliminator kit: 3 lbs. Aftermarket exhaust: 3-4 lbs. Lithium battery: 4lbs
