i got mine off e-bay for $10. got the supplement for $17.

 

Ok what does the supplement have that the regular manual dosen't? And are you talking about a manual for the klx300 or the klx250s?

 

i haven't used either yet i just have them "in case". the main manual is for the 93-96 klx250. it's the one that josh and brian said they have so that's what i got.i'm guessing the supplement covers the differences that kawasaki made to the bike when they updated it in '06.a lot of our bikes is the same from way back then until now. that's why there's only a supplementinstead of a full manual for the '06 and '07 models.

 

Got mine free from the dealer with the bike. I've only used the supplement a couple times...most everything is in the main volume...but the sup has some key stuff....just get both.

 

An answer to your 'query'....hmmmm. Excuse me if I'm off-base here, butit almost sounds as if you've paid for a tech service ticket with a professional company and are expecting somesort of action. Do you fully realize where you are?

I'm probably coming-off equally abrasive, butjust sayin....

When I posted my "query" it wound up on the second page somehow ... and wasn't emboldened... (can't figure how to make the message come out to be bold on the board), so it didn't stand out very well. After a few days, with no response, I figured that it just didn't get noticed. Rather than to retype the original post I just asked again, referencing the original post on pg. #2.

Since I have been able to get very valuable info from the forum in the past, I just re-asked the question. Didn't mean to set anyone on edge! Since the Kawi official manuals are rather expensive, (and may be produced and intended for the more technically skilled; ie the Kawi Authorized mechanics), I thought that the best recommendation/source for manuals might be from the members. I was just asking because I used to have the '04 DRZ400s and Suzuki had an online manual that was "the bees knees".

The response that I did recieve, after my 2nd request was very informative. Thanks all!!

We are "full timers", living in our motorhome, and are only rarely in areas where we are able to access a dealer. So the service manuals are very important as a source of detailed information to me.

I have recieved a lot of very helpful info from a lot of members: Credit is given below.

The most helpful is from Warski ( and others "NoBrakes et al"). Warski said: "Kawasaki part # 99924-1165-03 is the correct shop manual. It covers the KLX250R and KLX250 from model years '93-'96. The Supplement Manual is part #99924-1240-55, and covers the KLX250 and D-Tracker from 1999-2005. The paperwork that came with my '06 indicates that my bike is a KLX250-H6, which the manual claims is an '04. At any rate, those are the correct manuals. They're lousy, but they are the correct ones. The KLX was not "new for '06", just new to the States." (So, my '07 is actually an '04 Maylasian production version.) Therefore, the book covering the '93-'96 is the appropriate manual."
