Has anybody gotten any results from installing a hotter ignition coil and / or new spark plug?

There are a BUNCH of new improved better n ever ultra high tech super duper ultrasonic spitfire jumbo kernel fuel infected plugs with balognium flux capacitor electrodes and unobtanium resistor modulators out there with some "unbelievable" hype. Some even have electro bilateral six gigahert deresonation function and molecular mamographic holography and dolby noise enhancement that makes your exhaust blast Zep and smell like sticky buds!!

Seriously though. There has to be a "better" plug and a hotter spark can't hurt the burn.

Anybody tried any with any success??

As I keep riding my 09 I keep thinking the same....The ignition could use some help....Timing setting/Cam and spark....Sure Big Bore....But agreed our stock sparking system isnt matching our mods and driving styles..Everytime I feel that spit or sputter.. Regardless of gas if the spark was improved so would everything else improve....

I just received an iCat/iKat Spark Amplifier for my '09. Won't have it installed until the first week of December so give me a few weeks and I'll let you know if I notice a difference.

I bought the NGK Iriduim spark plug, and i could tell a little difference, ran better.

 

There are some hotter coils for sale on GreedEbay for not alot of cash. I think about $60.00. I'm up for a hotter coil for that money. This plug hype has got me scratching my diaper though. I mean JEEZ. Some of these companies hype their new plugs so mercilously that it sounds like you could run without GAS!!

There's iridium. ho,hum

There some plug claiming it "sonicly enhances fuel vaporization". uhhhhh,...really? It DOES, however have an electrode with a hole in the center that looked interesting.

Then there's splitfire with the split electrode. I was doing that with a dremel tool in the 70's.

Platinum?? Kinda sounds like generic iridium.

I think I saw some crossfire or something like that that looked like they would throw more spark (like the entire rim of the plug WAS the electrode) hence no electrode between the gas and the spark. That seems to make some sense.

This mod almost guarantees more power and more efficient fuel burn. It's worth a look.

SO OK!!! We;re all a bunch of dumbasses when it comes to spark.

So why don't we put our collective heads together and do some independent research on what kind of spark and iggy module mods are available to us.

More POWER is almost as good as more TOURQUE!!!!

Nobody into hotter spark?

I pulled the trigger on one of those $70 coils on greedEbay and I'm getting an E3 or HALO plug.

czr exhaust,....still thinking. Hey,...I'm serious about torque but I have my limits. I still prefer quiet.
