The Holland Track: Ride Report.
Heading off tonight for a couple of days R&R in the bush. The Holland Track this time. We're doing the section from Hyden to Thursday Rock. About 6 bikes going and one 4X4 with trailer. Should be great fun. The winter is nearly here and the cooler days (24oC today) are a welcome change after the very hot very long very dry summer.
Bike is ready to roll sporting the new (to me. Thanks Neil) Clarke 2.1 G tank and Kriega luggage.
My Pirelli Scorpion tyres are proving a very good choice for our local terrain, very impressed indeed. (Scorpion MX Extra 110/ rear and a Scorpion XCMS front.)
Should get a report and some images up next week. Stay tuned.

Just getting the report together. Here's a taster. (Not one of my best efforts though!)

Finally got the bigger tank (Clarke 10.2 litre) fitted at last, and worked out the small issues with the petcock and fuel line. Besides, this weekend away had the bike running fantastically (back to the N1RX needle from the N1TC) and I was running rings around all of the bikes except for the KTM 530 piloted by a die hard desert racer with serious credentials. All the bigger bikes (650cc+) struggled with the sand but I was just "joining the dots" from berm to berm (Pirelli Scorpion tyres are the shizzle,) and the bite under brakes from the XCMS front (DOT) is fantastic on sand, even with the stock brake set up. At one point I ran out 20 minutes on all the other bikes. The KLX sure loves to wag its tail

Bully had the BMW 1200 GS down on a couple of occasions as did some of the other riders with their whips. A clean sheet for the KLX despite some "untidy lines" in the sand, noted by Bully.
