Evening JB1,
Wanted totreat of the HMF specifically because I had been following your own experience . . . wanted to reinforce your issuesre: fender, addthe blow by issue at the clamp (addressed with high temp silicone), and yet, give credit where credit is due . . . the HMF, for all this, isindeed a very well crafted slip on . . . I forgot to mention that I did have to grind my right side passenger footpeg to gain clearance. That worked out fine, but should not have been necessary. . . the problem is, I enjoy tinkering so I can't muster too much of a complaint . . .
Did you decide to keep the HMF? If so, you (and others)may want to add a stainless lock washer and nut on the inside endof the longbolt you used for mounting- this to supplement the threaded tab on the frame. I did this and now feel very confident in the solidity of the mount up!
