Thanks Eric, I'll check into it!
great products, your welcome.

on the "metal shavings" for repacking.... umm....yea.... that sounds like a really bad idea, metal shavings from doing machine work and stainless steel "steel wool" for repacking is ALOT different.

All those loose shavings? Sounds like it could get into the combustion chamber under the right conditions.

I would be concerned about shavings getting in the cylinder also or I wonder if they could get shot out of the exhaust like a projectile. That could really suck to get a peice of metal shot in your eye or other body parts.

Why are we even having a discussion about using metal machine shavings when packing is so incredibly inexpensive?

You also would not want to use any type of steel wool without it being insulated between fiberglass matting from touching the aluminum or stainless silencer as dissimilar metals and heat are a bad combination for promoting corrosion.

Really, come on now! Wrap it up and send it back to HMF like it says in there website and they will repack it, repolish it, and rivet on a new HMF plate on the side of it for 20 bucks!!!

Mine has 2700 miles on it and it has lost the deep throated cool sound it had, It's louder now and kind of ratteley sounding so mine is going back in the spring..
