Default Hillbilly Dualsport Ride YEEE HA!!!

I had a great time riding this past Friday and Saturday in Eureka Springs AR. The KLX250 comunity was represented by Bill(Shadetree), Jerry(Fishfinder), and myself(VFRpilot). There were somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 riders there. Lots of DRZ650's, KLR's, Honda's, some KTM's, a few Sherpa's, and some Yamaha's.
We done ourselves proud. In a croud of "big dogs", the only thing that we lacked was the 65+ highway speeds.
Terrain, was very diverse; There was asphalt, white rock, sandy gravel, black marbley stuff, dirt ATV trails, and some very greasy mud. There were several water crossings and the view from White Rock
Mountain was very cool! There were GPS routes mapped out for everyone to follow, and everyone rode in groups of 7-15. We covered over 200 miles per day, and by the time all was done I was wanting one of those sheepskins like yyyguy has!
Bill rode with the "fast group" both days. Jerry rode in the other fast group, and I rode with the slow group on Friday because of the wife was riding her TW200 and thought I'd better keep and eye on her. But Saturday I rode with Jerry's group and we had a blast!
Having enough gas was an issue but we made it through OK
I can't begin to convey how great all the riders were. Everybody was there to have a great time and be safe, and thats exactly what happened!
My understanding is that the event will be held the same weekend next year and promises to be another fantastic gathering. So make plans now!

This is the begining of Fridays run.

Great pics and looks like great fun too. I can't get over the tires on the TW, they make all the other bike's tires looks like bicycles by comparison.

Tell us about Shadetree's bike.

I didn't get to ride with shadetree but hopefully he will jump in here and tell us how it ran. Also I think that fishfinder has some pics that he can post, and offer some more comentary.
It really was a great group.
The cop just came to check us out and see what we were up to. They are accustomed to lots of motorcycle traffic in that area.

Would it be possible to get a closer picture of the way you are carrying the msr bottles? Is that something you made? Thank you.

Not much to add to the ride report. I showed up Thurs at noon and got in a additional 70 mile ridethat day. Then the scheduled ride was Friday and Saturday. I had logged 500 miles for the weekend. There was at least 6 groups of riders and were rated from Fastest to Slowest. You just had to select your punishment. The accommodations at the motel was excellent and it seemed the entire town of Eureka Springs was motorcycle friendly. I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures but not doing well. I get file attachment instead of a embedded picture. Computer illiterate. I'll work on this and try to add a few pictures to what Gary already posted.
