Highway speed hiccup

Highway speed hiccup
I have been contemplating a little misfire, for lack of a better word, at 6000+ rpm steady speed. It happens several times per minute. I realized this does not happen at all below 5000rpm. I am thinking my fueling may be a little lean at highway speeds. Fuel economy is 70+mpg on the highway. Do I go up on my DJ main or raise the needle? The problem only exists above about 6000rpm. Does anyone know of any KLX ignition issues that would misfire at only higher rpm? I am expecting KLXSTER to give me the dope any minute. And if it gives any indication on my low speed fueling I have to use the choke even now in Summer and warm up for 30-60 sec before driving off in the morning.

Yep, you expect right..lol
"DJ140/2N+Lidless+slipon+MCM+near sea level" is not lean anywhere above 3.5K RPM.. I can't remember what pilot jet you're using, but for your elevation - #35(stock) is 3.5 turns out, #38 or #40 is midway between idle drops..
Given that your low speed ops and engine starting have deteriorated, I'm guessing trash has "all but" deactivated your pilot system and possibly affected the main fueling circuitry as well..
From old information in here, high speed misfire calls for the "rectifier ground mod" ....

I had the same issue, went to 38 pilot and it went away. 3.5 turns out on the stock pilot is an indicator you need to go up one size. I had also tried the rectifier mod with no resolution.
