Default High gas prices = killer savings on a KLX

As of today, the average price of gas in California is $4.66. That equates to $120 to fill-up my Dodge RAM. Fortunately, I'm only having to do that about once a month as opposed to once a week before I bought my KLX. Not only is it a fun bike the ride, the money I'm saving in gas pays for the bike. Talk about win-win!

I just paid $4.99 a gallon to fill up my KLX. They say they are going to release the winter blend early to bring the price down asap.

winter blend costs more to refine because of the extra additives.

Oh I'm sure Gov Moonbeam knows what he's doing.

Cali is on summer belnd til the 31st. Summer blend is in short supply and Winter blend is readily available. So the thought process goes...

yea it's absurd with the cost of gas everywhere. Definetly true about the fuel economy paying for the bike though. My other ride is an 87 chevy crew cab long bed dually that used to have an 8L big block motor. Great power but couldnt pass a gas station to save its life haha

Gas prices were why I bought mine.
Was spending $300+ a month on gas for the car, before the KLX. And my Ducati is not so good on gas(only gets 35ish mpg), or comfy for commuting(and it just won't do the speed limit for some reason). All that led me to looking for a DS, and this forum led me to buying the KLX.
Thanks guys!!!
KLX payment = $100 a month
Gas = not even sure, but less than $100 a month
That leaves an extra $100 a month = all the farkles so far, w/o spending any extra cash than I was before!
Next up on the savings purchase list - a windshield for blocking that cold wind at 60mph, on the now prevalent frosty morning rides. Then battery powered heated gear,
then new tires and studs.
After all that is done, it just becomes savings. Unless I resurrect the cage, which seems to be sinking into the ground, I used to love driving my car, now I hate it.
Even freezing my butt off, I have a better time riding the KLX.
8000 miles since the 30th of March, rain or shine(600 miles in the cage).
The only bummer, my 90lb dog can't go to work with me on the bike. Hmmm.....can you say trailer? I wonder..... Might go for a sidecar (to carry the dog) on the KLX650 if I get it going...
Yeah, I tell myself it's about savings, but it's really about the bikes (and yeah, I'm single, and yeah, I've taken the bike apart in my living room, multiple times).

My 250sf gets only about as many mpg on the highway as my 1200cc Buell! Of course it's at WOT and spinning almost 3x faster!
