HID Headlight

HID Headlight
Last time I went for a night ride I found out the KLX has a "not so powerful" headlight.
So I just ordered a HID kit, witch emits 3 times the amount of light and uses only half the current of a standard halogen bulb. ($50 on e-bay)
Anyone has already tried it ?

i have them in my spot light for a 4wd. good, bright but they do need to warm up (15-30 seconds) and no high/low beam and the cheaps ones dont always turn on every time. i have tried the high watt halogen bulbs not much better.
my solution was to ride in the day
i would be adding lights not changing them.
give it a crack and see what happens

Thanks for reply. I will give them a try and see.
As you said, the best light is day light ! But having more artificial light when you have to get back home after a longer day can't hurt !

I have an HID in mine that works without flaw. They do make a high/low beam (which I have), it uses an electromagnet to slightly move the bulb for high. It works great and it was simple plug and play. Do a search, you will find a few threads on them.

One of my cars had an HID conversion in it, when I bought it.
They are very bright, and would have been good if i lived in town, but since I live in the sticks, I need high beams. I wondered if I might be able to adapt one of the bulbs to the KLX. I was riding the woods in the dark last week, and think the HID might be good for that.
