The bikes can last 30,000 miles with only valve adjusts and adding a manual cam chain tensioner, which he just did. There is a strong chance I'll be picking this up. Back in the 90's, a magazine did a shoot out between the KLX650, the DR650 and the KLR650. I think in the end the KLX650 came out on top but it had a heftier price tag.

For less than $2000 I think it's a steal. I was checking out some pics and it can be turned into a pretty decent medium weight adventure touring machine. Only thing is people are saying it's not so good in the tight single track. I laugh at that and think it'll be fine. I ride with a guy on a KLR and he abuses it just fine.

It's not that it's not good in the single track. It's just a lot of work. Not the first few miles.............the last few miles.

lcpl .. everyone gets it, its not meant for single track, beats a klr thou, (not my adv of course ) shoot even the current owner wants to sell it to get a lighter bike.

It does have electric start too, I'm surprised, you can see it in the pic next to the flywheel. Nice.

For the price you can't go wrong. It looks like it could be a fun bike, I'd pick it up if it was local.

Well I just rode it briefly in the guys neighborhood. Ho-ly ****!!!! No replacement for displacement!!

I think it'll be mine wednesday when I get him the money. It looks good. Starts right up, idles low with no noise. Some interesting farkles on there though. Manual fan switch, a switch for two LED lights on the license plate. That is original plastics believe it or not. It's got less scrapes on it than my 09 klx250.

Look out for muzzy and springs for the 250 soon...I will come here 1st...
