Default Help! Smog system removal on 09 KLX 250S

I took my bike apart to do the free mods and I noticed that the carburator and the smog stuff is different from the previous model. The carburator doesn't have a throttle position sensor on it. There are more parts that goes with the smog system. Has anyone removed their smog system from an 09 KLX250S? I tried searching but I couldn't find anything for the 09.

The second post in this forum is very informative in regards to the bike you are trying to modify. Almost all of the info pertains to your year bike w/minor changes.

Dirtsurfer does it well w/ pics and great narratives. He has made it so easy a cave woman can do it.

do you have the AUS or JAP model bike where do you live cuz i have the US model 09 and yours differs from mine. your airbox has on more port on it as well as your carb which has that two way fitting. My carb only has one line coming of it for the smog stuff. Whats that second photo you have there, is that the bottom of your gas tank?

I have CA-US model. Cali is pretty strict with emissions. The second picture is the bottom of my gas tank which has 3 lines that goes to the smog crap.

California spec motorcycles probably carry the Japanese spec emissions stuff since both have very tight emissions requirements.

Looks like you've done a good job. If you've got the time you could write up a step by step on how to do it. As it's a new model, this will help many others in the future.
No pressure.

While you're at it, get the Jap' spec FI throttle body and associated parts and plumb it in.
