Hey, I just found that I can get the DJ kit for the KLX300 for $45 so is that a better way to go?? I would imagine it would work with the 250 as long as I use the right parts from it as it looks like it has an assortment.

I'm running the DJ kit, as well as a few others. I really like it because I have the extra jets available if I need them and can experiment. Big fan of the DJ needle as well. People will argue that its not the way to go based on the fact that you are spending a little more on jets that you probably wont need, but as far as performance goes I'm very happy with it. The jet sizes are different though so you'll have to pay attention to that. At sea level i think that you'd use the 132 size, as I'm using 128 at 4000 feet. 45 seems like a good price to me.

Ok, cool. I looked at Dynojets website and there is a Fraud Alert on their kits so I guess I need to be careful so I don't buy a "look alike" kit that is inferior. I wonder if DJ is just saying that to keep the price up . I will make sure before I buy if I go that route. I was kind of wanting to keep a snorkle on and the DJ kits want the airbox cover off so I have to think on that too. My wife is 135 lbs and no matter which way I go she will be thrilled (cause she is already thrilled) and I don't want to over do it
Thanks,
db

I remember seeing the alert too, but seem to remember that it wasnt the kit for our bikes? I got my kit off ebay from a pretty reputable supplier, and checked for the things to look for and it was all good. Even if it was fake, which I doubt, I still love the results

Hey stellar_d, thanks for posting that comment regarding the 132 vs the 128 for "at sea level" using the DJ kit..I put the 132 in my bike, but was worried it was too rich, but like you said that's what the kit called for. I just didn't see many people running the 132 on the forum, but it certainly appears to work for me..no backfires, sparks, flames, popping, etc.. Your comment convinces me to keep it in and not switch to the 128. Thanks.

For the record, I am running 132 main, stock pilot, clip on 3rd slot, drilled slide to 7/64ths, modified airbox lid (see pic) and modified stock muffler (drilled baffles and unfortunately spark arrester...ooops),and the bike runs great. Also 13/42 soon to be 13/45 gearing new parts in today. AndI am at sea level. For an extra 10 bucks i would also put in the Iridium spark plug..I found it made the bike run a little smoother.

No problemo, I remember going by what the guide said too, or close to it. I've got the muzzy as well so I chanced going up slightly richer on the jet than what it called for I think. I think I also runit on the 3rd clip of the needle....damn I had it all written down once. Anyway my bike runs great, I have my brothers flanged up the same way too and his is great also...even with the stupid ugly BG on there

hahha nm, i see i still have my specs in my signature [&:]. I can't remember though is it more rich if the needle is at #2 than it is #3?
