This bike is a fuel hog. Really no excuse for 50 mpg when a big BMW can also give you 50.

I regularly hit reserve at 80 miles which is right at 50 mpg when running at highway speeds around 60-70 indicated.

When trail riding/racing, talking about real trails not some bumpy gravel road, I have no problem at all consuming fuel in the 35 mpg range. That's horrible and KAWi should be ashamed.

I only weigh 160, run a D606 front and rear and all figures are using the odometer and actual math when filling up at a station. Knowing the odometers aren't accurate our mpg sucks even more.

Do not buy this bike expecting a gas sipper. You can do better in an actual car.

You should try and check the fuel consumption of an actual dirt bike sometime.

I have an IMS tank with the power bomb, FMF Exhaust.....(jet kit not yet installed)...I am currently at 170 miles without hitting the reserve......rode some off road, some on road, fell over once, hit a small track (thats where I fell over).....first big run with the IMS........hopefully know my full consumption in a few days....

I'm about to pull the trigger on a bigger tank. I hit the reserve at 92 miles this weekend. 61mpg on an all stock bike. I just need more range out of this bike. I hate having to top it off all the time. It's the worst to be out on a trail and hit the 50 mile mark and have to turn around. Especially when you're lost.

I don't know, HB...mine has a 300 cylinder, and I can easily get 45 mpg flogging my bike in real off road and just over 60 on straight pavement at 60-62 mph. That's with knobbies and 14/47 gearing. Are you running yours at redline all the time or something like that?

I *was* getting 70 MPG stock - performance was less than impressive!

After the mods (listed in my sig) I'm getting @55 - 56 MPG no matter where or how I ride it... around town riding, or trails, makes no difference. I hit reserve at around 80 miles. Performance is *much* improved though... it runs like a scalded cat now!!! Pulls VERY hard from 0-8000 RPM, but then falls off quickly. I think I may still be running slightly rich. I want to try a Keihin 125, since DJ didn't include anything between a DJ116 and a DJ120.

From the look of your plug (Landon) you're running so rich that I'm surprised it is running at all. It looks like a badly fouled plug from a 2-stroke snowmobile... it's THAT bad!

The second pic, after the Colorado trip, the plug looks pretty good. What's the MPG now?

I've pulled as low as 29 mpg with 13/49 gears, in the mud or slow tight trails, and running rich. Highs into the low 60's stock. Also pulled into the 60's fully loaded on over night trips with 15/49 35 pilot/124 DJ/2nd clip on 250 jug. Now with 351 kit, 15/45 (same as stock ratio) and 38 pilot and 128 DJ main clip 3rd (which are on the rich end), running between 50 and 55, but no real flogging with this setup yet. All actual mileage with Vapor computer.
