Default Help finding part number

Hey guys (and gals!?). I recently had a family member purchase a klx250 and through the process of going over it ran into a little snag.

One of the axle pinch bolts was sheard in half resulting in just three nuts holding the pinch plate on. Completely unsafe I unscrewed the bolt out and looked at a parts fiche only to find out that that part is not listed?

Anyone know the part number for an axle pinch bolt? Or a compatible on from another make model?

Thanks a lot!
-Mike

Those were studs with nuts right? I replaced all 4 of mine with bolts. Havent had a problem since. One of mine broke also. I believe they are the same bolts that hold the plastics on. Same threads. Not sure on the length.

If you want the original parts its on the front fork fiche .
Ronayers.com Microfiche Kawasaki>Motorcycle>2006>KLX250S>Front Fork(2/2)(H6F)

Wait, you can buy the nut, but i dont see a part # for the stud. Id just put 4 bolts in there.

ems from rufcut riders? Man you get around... Actually went for my first ride with a couple fellows from there at camp horne. Fun bunch

thanks for the suggestion for the studs. The parts fiche even has the fork turned away from the viewing angle as if they don't want you to even see the studs. Great suggestion for using some bolts instead. Got to go measure...

HA!!! Yea thats me. RCR is a great group of guys. Hope to see you on some future rides.

Im betting the M6X20 bolt will work. Like the longer side cover bolts, try it out, take out the upper side cover bolt, that also holds the seat on. That should be the right length.

I use a local do it best center for all my stainless hardware needs, i found lowes and home depot sucks for metric and S.S. If they have it, its hard to find.

Don't know that I would use a bolt there. A stud means that the threads in the fork aren't in play when removing/installing the axle.
It can be done but be extra careful so as not to STRIP the threads in the fork.
