HELP! BIKE STALLING AT IDLE WHEN I GIVE IT GAS
HI,
currently running... (in Boston, MA sea level)
fmf jet kit
132
#40
clip 4 from the top
kdx snorkle
big gun
crank case breather
using 93 octane
Hope you guys can help? The other day i went for a trial ride, went thru a few puddles the bike stalled out and started fine. The bike ran pretty good all day other than that, towards the end of the ride. The bike just died. so it started up ok and idled ok but when i went to give it gas it would just die. so i went thru that a while... then started to push the bike to the truck up a few hills over a couple of rocks then decided to try it again. It seemed to be fine after that and i was able to ride back to the truck and back home. so i got home, cleaned the fuel bowl side including the the jets didnt see anything su****ious... after that i went on a 40 mile street ride... no prblems. so last night i removed the tank did the carb vent mod and just cleaned the fuel filter while i was in there. put the tank on. at this point i removed the air box lid just to see if it would make any difference in performance. then i took it out for a quick ride. on the way out of the drive way i banged out a small wheelie then not 100 yards from the house the bike did the same thing. so i walked it home... put the air box lid back on. started fine gave it gas then it would stall. so i pulled the plug , looked a little white to me so i went in the house to check the plug condition on the computer. i put the plug back in. then the bike seemed to start up fine and didnt stall when i gave it gas. i didnt take it for a ride again yet
well hopefully you guys have some in put? sorry for the winded essay.
Thanks in advance
Eric

looks like your clip position is wrong, and the pilot is too big, put the stock pilot back in, and adjust the clip position to the 2nd or 3rd, i cant remember where mine is....

no..... but its a place to start..... try taking out the snorkel too, but leave the airbox lid on... thats how im running. You have checked everything else right, like choke is off... idle adjust ****.... that it has gas.... maybe the fuel filter is kinda clogged and its getting gas, just not enough, your carb vent lines clear?

123,
If you had the carb slide out lately, I would say there may be a slight twist in the diaphragm. This has caused me similar difficulties in the past. Try reseting the diaphragm.

Thanks ems and tony
i think i may try putting the stock pilot in and needle 3rd clip and that will force me to open the other end of the carb and take a look at the diaphragm.
the only time i have the carb slide out is when i rejetted and started having the problems. it just seems to be intermintent which bothers me more than not running
