Default Help with bike purchace

Hi, I currently own a stock KLX250S, and I have a problem. this bike lacks the power to ride the trails like I would like, the bike has trouble on the hills, is a little heavy, and from what I have read Cannot handle any more than small jumps.. I purchaced this bike in 2007 thinking it would be more!! When I purchaced the bike it would do what I needed and I loved it, but after two years.... I am planning on keeping the KLX for the wife and any street riding that I need to do. I do however need advice on a new bike for myself for spring these are the bikes I have narrowed it down to CRF250X, 2010 CRF250R (Fuel injected), 2010 RMX450 and the Husaberg 390 FE. I usually ride trails (these are single track quad trails) I have thousands of KM's in trails to ride most of them are loose sand through the bush with super long steep sand hills that are also single track mostly technical riding not much Hi speed. as well I recently bought a house and where I bought it I have a MX track about 1/2 a mile from my house ( this is no glen helen just a smaller local track). so I want A bike that can do it all in off road. all these bikes are in the 8000.00 range, I would have included the KLX 450 But my local dealer wants 10,000 for that bike.. I have 4000 saved already!!

actually 9200.00 + all the other fees. I am looking for something that I will not have to put thousands of more dollars for it to make good power.

Hi Ken, Have you considered a slightly used bike. There must be people out there that cannot make the payments on the bike that you are looking for. Usually get a current year model, modified and ready to go for 75% of retail. Even less if they are getting desperate.

Out of the options that was given, you can't go wrong with any of the Honda's but if you want that power get the Suzuki. But in all honesty if there's a Husaberg dealer near you and you can get parts easily then go for the Husaberg. Husaberg came out with a genius idea of putting the cylinder almost horizontal which put the crank's mass more centered, then conventional thumpers. In other words it just distributed the weight more evenly and made for a wicked handling bike with some wicked punch.

But if you want ***** to the wall power get any 450 like even CRF 450x is under 8g's or stay green and get the KLX 450r

I like the Husaberg the best, there are a couple of dealers in edmonton that carry the bikes, that is only a four hour drive from here (Grande Prairie). I think the most practical would be the hondas because thr dealer that is four blocks from my house has 2008 new X for 7399.00. But then again 8600 for the 2010 250R FI The hus also has FI and so does the Suzuki. I am mostly torn between sizes I am 5'7'' and 175lbs and a 32" inseam and think a 450 might be a little large for me in the tight trails and I am afraid I will out grow the 250's. the husaberg is fairly pricy around 9000.00.
I once a few years back it was 1996 And I purchaces a Used bike that used bike looked fantastic, fired up and ran good in the guys driveway, so I purchaced not Knowing alot about the mechanics and bought something that died after two weekends and needed a complete rebuild, I of course Know more about bikes nowadays, but still do not trust buying a used bike.
Deej, I am keeping the KLX it is a good little bike my wife is going to ride it when the family goes trail riding. My 7 year old daughter is getting a Honda 50 for her birthday, she just loves bikes she wants rides constantly. back to the KLX I am also getting some SM tires and wheels for the bike as well, I just want a wild off road machine.Deej that 650 is a tank not a trailbike/MX track machine!!!LOL
I am not planning on financing the bike CASH only this time!!! $4000.00 in the cookie jar already!!!!

No brainer....I'd suggest a lightly used plated smoker.....my personal choice would be a wide ratio ktm 300 xc-w....just sayin
