Also, if you know how to run a LATHE, you can pick up a cheap oem A/F screw and turn a **** on the lathe,then silver solder it on. I had a hard time finding a adajustable a/f screw for my 09'

I wouldn't break in your bike using the factory recommendations. There was a thread here not long ago addressing the break-in topic, but I don't remember the title. I broke mine in as recommended by Kawi, but that was before the thread came out. It took a very long time and sounds like it was not the best way to do it.
You'll enjoy the mods when done.

i did the just about the exact same mods as you arer speaking with 7 miles on my odometer. it did make a difference....though not enough for me...I did the 351 kit along with some further jetting at something like 13 miles on the odometer...lol. now it's awake!

I can't seem to find it no matter how hard I look Could you tell me specifically where the air/fuel screw is

It's on the bottom of the carb near the back. There is a round post that protrudes down below the rest of the carb body. This is where the screw is located under a plug installed from the factory. The plug needs removing to access the screw.
