It doesn't surprise me at all that the FMF headers provide less power than stock.

If you search for the MRD/SSW exhaust for the DRZ... you'll notice it tapers larger as it goes to the silencer, and in certain steps... that's the highest performance exhaust you can get for the DRZ, it went through many stages to reach that goal.

A bulge just messes up the exhaust sonics completely.

Go to any motocross and see how many race bikes have them, most all last time I looked. Sure it will vary from bike to bike but my stock 250 liked it and if I go 351 it will be on there also.

my .02 I put a Powerbomb on,first reason I wanted a better sound,#2 is I got a great deal on my full FMF system 280.brand new from some guy in my area,also he gave me the jet kit,and the KDX snorkel...he had two sets he was going to put on a his n hers bikes but sold both bikes with 75mi on them"Wife said so" I really like the sound,looks and there has got to be some Performance there,very happy with it..

The FMF headers for our bike also step up in diameter toward muffler.

The stock header size is too small for a 4V bike of 250 cc displacement.

My DRZ has a full Titanium FMF Powercore4/Megabomb system Haha. It's pretty much the same as the one for the KLX.. just the pipe bends differently.

Mike, would you like me to come visit again, so you can check out the DRZ?
