Header to slip on Gasket?
Hi,
I put my slip on FMF Q4 directly on the stock header without any gasket (the same way someone did here on the forum: https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum...-review-35228/) but I can hear a little whistling noise coming from that connection.
Does anyone here uses a specific gasket (similar to the one that was in between stock exhaust and stock header)?
Thanks for posting links and pics.

The instructions that came with my Q4 said to use high temp silicone. Did you read your directions? I used the copper colored permatex, and it stays intact, no burning, or melting. Clean the pipes with alcohol before using silicone, and let the bike sit for a day afterward to let the silicone cure.

I thought I had some laying around but did not, so I installed it anyway.
Exhaust leak.
I picked up some black high-temp and R&R the muffler...perfect. (Although the black high-temp did smoke a bit, that copper stuff may be the way to go.)

I used the ultra hi-temp copper stuff from permatex when I installed my Q4. From past experience with other applications I don't anticipate any troubles sliding the muffler off when the time comes.

I wouldn't anticipate a problem removing the muffler. The cured silicone feels kind of like rubber. I peeled off the excess and it didn't stick to the steel of the header at all. Worst case, a couple whacks with a rubber mallet should loosen it.
