Haven't forgot you guys
or my promise to organize the posts and info here.
My job has been hell for the past two months. Two new bosses and tons of travel.
...then the FJR deal sort of fell in my lap. Man what a sweet frickin' ride!!!! I just get so little time to ride that the FJR is winning out and I've been farkling it like crazy too.
Anyway, I'll be back on the job here shortly and get some stuff organized and extend the FAQ.

I saw that - it looked great. Todd, do you have the model that has the "pushbutton" shifter? That's just about the coolest thing I've seen in a long time.

However, I can tell you that the stock FJR clutch has a VERY firm pull and would get really ugly in police or escort duty (which is now possible since they fixed the heat issue). The electronic shift would be a god-send in that role. Also great for disabled folks or those with diminished use of their left hand.

No, I got the "regular" version. I just can't quite figure out what question that solution is trying to answer. From early reviews it looks like it works well but I just don't get it.

The test rider's all said they kept reaching for a clutch and it took a little getting used too. They reported it would be great for city driving or what you said police duty. Then a cop can shoot and shift at the same time.

Yeah, but without the clutch lever they have no place to hang the donuts!
Know what you mean about the new bike stuff there Todd. The V-Strom is gettng a lot of riding time. My other bikes are giving me dirty looks each night when I pull into the garage.
But working 7 days a week kind of makes it hard to ride for things other than work. I have a couple of days off next week, I'm going to try and use the other bikes then.

I have no experience with such things, though, so it may be entirely different. In one of the superbike races I was watching, I thought I heard one of the commentators say their electronic shifters could shift gears in something like 50 ms. That's 20 shifts per second if anyone is counting. [sm=jawdrop.gif]
