Default Hauling the KLX in a pickup

When I go riding with my buddy up north we always took his Dakota no problem lifting the bikes in the back. Well he doesn't have a truck anymore so we took mine a Ram 2500 4x4 with a very high tailgate. What do you guys use to get the bikes in the bed? I'm thinking a single ramp but, I don't see how you could load it without walking next to the bike up the ramp. Any suggestions?

Deej i have the exact same truck as you do what do you use?

I use a wood ramp I made for my F150. I usually get a nice brisk walk going owards it, then jump onto the tail gate while still pushing forward. Then I grab the tie downs.

It's a bit heavier than my YZ125 I was used to - but it's not horrible.

i put an upside down bucket or a mx stand near the tailgate to help me run up into the bed of the pickup. loading to GO riding is easy. loading to come home usually takes three people. haha

My Ranger is pretty high but I just get near a steep hill. Lots of times I don't even need ramps.

i take the tailgate off and put a 2x6 on the bumper. i have a sierra and can walk right up into the bed using the momentum i get rolling the bike towards the truck. with 2 bikes it's not as easy but 1 guy up and 1 guy down get's them right in there.

I take a scrap piece of plywood about 3 feet long and 18 inches wide, back the pickup into a ditch or against a hill or berm, and roll the motorcycle on or off as needed. Let mother nature help you by lowering the back end of your pickup using whatever terrain is nearby and handy.

Use 2 ramps? I use lawnmower ramps, either walk up one and drive the bike up the other. Just ride the bike up 1 ramp if I feel like being lazy and risky at the same time, or the bike is running, and it's driving up the ramp and as the bike is moving onto the truck I step up onto the tailgate. I only have a Ranger though. I suppose a biger truck would be harder doing that.
But yeah, 2 ramps work, and so does a 4' wide ramp.. ha, then you don't look like as much of a sissy setting up 2 ramps.. haha

Well when I first bought my bike I got all excited like Jo Jo the idiot Circus boy and bought all kinds of stuff from the shop at the same time that I picked up my bike. Some salesman talked me into one of those skinny barely wide enough single ramps that if I remember even folded in half. I also bought a $240.00 hydraulic bike lift and I don't regret that for a second. I'll include a pic of that as well. Anyway after almost dumping the bike on the first attempt into the truck, I took the ramp back and got full credit toward afolding ATV ramp. Now getting the bike up is a piece of cake and certainly a lot safer. In fact I actually ride mine right up into the truck. Plus if I ever got an ATV or wanted to haul a riding mower around, I'm all set. Here are a couple of pictures of mine. And yes the Ram 2500 4X4 has a really tall bed, especially with the tow package.

I also installed one of these so I could haul 2 and sometimes 3 bikes on occasion. It works great too.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned these. We use 3 ramps to make a deck and drive our bikes on a dump truck. It's easier if you back up to a hill. I think Home Depot sells them.

When loading in my van with a ramp. I use the stool that I use for my top tool box and just step on that to get up and in the van.
