Default Handlebar Decision

What bar is everyone using to replace their stock one with? I have an '09 "s". What is the maximum rise that the cables will handle and what is a good sweep. I use my bike for 98% trail riding and 2% commuting to work so this bar is to improve trail riding. I stand a lot when riding in the woods.

Thanks

KX bend

Just picked it because I thought it might be the closest to stock.

Well, they are not installed yet since my bike is in the shed waiting for the snow to melt, but I'll put my ProTaper ATV Hi bars I had on my TW200. I did really like the height and ease of riding while standing up. I'll be looking for new +2" throttle and clutch cables before putting the handlebars on the KLX.

There seems to be some variation in cable lengths (production line tolerances) so in some cases not much change at all from stock, sometimes a couple of inches.

I have protaper atv hi bars on my tw, klr and klx. No need for longer cables on any of them.

I use the Tusk T-10 aluminum bars for all my bikes. I like the CR-hi bend. Cheap at $30 and as good as any expensive (Renthal, etc) bars I've ever run. You can either use or remove the crossover bar and it comes with a pad as well.

Are you serious? Brake hose seems already pretty tight with the stock bars...

Really? The brake hose is the long one that runs in front of the bars. The clutch cable was a little tight but worked out fine. Mine is an 07' so i'm not sure about the gen2's. If you need pics just let me know.

Disagree. My experience is the Tusk bars bent the 1st time I dropped the bike on the trail. I replaced with pro-tapers, have dropped MANY times, they haven't even thought about bending. The guy I talked to at RMATV said he has heard about people bending the bars from dropping their bikes in the garage. It's definitely worth it to pony up an 30 extra bucks for the Pro Taper.
