I was trying to explain him that taking the long way arround . I think all i did was upset him ( a little )
Anyways the right piece of advice to give in a forum visited by readers with various degrees of mechanical knoledge would be :
Dudes , and of course dudets , if your ACR is messed up don't " fix " your carburator !

Thanks for posting guys. I think Marcelino and brewster sum it up well.
I have drilled the "starter jet". I wish I wouldn't have. I don't like the fact that it can't be choked quite long enough now.
I mentioned the cam mod to him and he was very interested. He said just adjust the ACR while I'm in there and be sure to let him know how it turned out for me.

LOL!...Yes, I screwed that up. The KACR modification causes higher compression which just takes better advantage of the existing fuel/air mixture. Not sure where I got the thought that induction would be improved. And I wasn't even drinking.

I guess I expect small displacement 4 strokes to have a bit of "personality" when starting...hot or cold, so, it just doesn't bother me. I found what mine likes to do, and I do what it likes. Never turns over more than a time or two without starting right up. I didn't drill my starter circuit...I guess I was lucky.

I drilled mine - and I'm quite happy with it. It starts way better, hot or cold - and I'm not noticing any problem with it warming up. It may be a bandaid fix to overcome an ACR issue - but it's a damned good bandaid, IMO...

And, it's easy enough to do at your own kitchen table. I just don't trust a dealership to work on my machines. I've seen too much non-sense going on in those shops.
