RE: GROUP BUY - Front Brake Guards
Chris,
Thanks (again!) go to you for leading us on another group buy adventure! (At this point I wouldn't be surprised if sometime in the future you organize a group buy for KTMs to follow in NoBrake's roost!!!).
Snal, thanks also toyou for looking into the possibility of making it happen! Regarding the thickness, the 0.125" thick angle iron is just what was available at the local Home-Depot ... nothing magic about it. I don't see any reasons why stainless steel wouldn't work.
JB1'ssuggestion about using the lower caliper mounting bolt as another mounting point for the lower bracket is a good idea, but I guess it depends on how elaborate we want to get with the design. My first thought would be to file a flat spot on a washer for the caliper mounting bolt to go through, and simply weld the washer along the top edge of the bracket. (Hmmm, I might even do that to my homemade one! Who knows, it might turn out so well that maybe we can get Dirtsurfer to ditch his aftermarket guard!!!)
Again, thanks go to both of you guys!
Mike

RE: GROUP BUY - Front Brake Guards
Here's the updated list as of 3:40pm EST:
1. cwgoff
2. ginsu4u
3. EMS_0525
4. jeepphamilee
5. doubled6
6. coolchange
7. mnmadness
8. RU2112SH
9. JB1
10. Divodave
11. UTRoss
12.vfrpilot
13. Dirtsurfer (top only)
14. marc11
15. mmatz
16. mikem1965
Not a bad count for the first 8 hours or so of name gathering. I don't think we would have the same response for an organize group buy for KTMs. Maybe we would, though, if we were getting those at cost too.
